Rancho Bernardo Rotary Club provides over $100K annually in grants, matching gifts and funds to support our youth activities. Once a year we hold the Vines & Vittles Family Festival to support our cause. Please consider joining us to make a difference by becoming a sponsor.
Causes We Support
Abraxas High School Garden–In 2015, abraxas high school began a school garden. The garden began by transforming a little used tennis court into a thriving outdoor lab to teach students about growing healthy food and giving back to the community by donating the produce to the people in our community that need it the most.
AAUW–To advance gender equity for women and girls through research, education, and advocacy.
Casa Residents for Education–The residents of Casa de las Campas take pride in sharing their blessings and skills with the wider community. Their generous spirit extends far beyond the bounds of our own not-for-profit community to reach a wide assortment of their neighbors in Rancho Bernardo and farther.
Friends of Vista Hill–To enhance and improve the quality of life for families and individuals of all ages by providing an array of mental / behavioral health, educational and social services in a fiscally responsible manner.
Gently Hugged–Collecting and distributing clothing and blankets to babies in need
Poway Symphony–Our mission is to make live classical symphonic music accessible to audiences and fellow performers of communities and towns of North County Inland for their musical enjoyment and cultural and educational enrichment.

Sant Madeleine Sophie’s Center–A place where adults with intellectual disabilities can learn and grow in a supportive, innovative community.
SAY San Diego–From before- and after-school programs and early childhood services to therapy services for youth and adults, to support for key populations, like the region’s local military families, SAY San Diego strives to make sure that every San Diegan can get the help they need, whenever and wherever they need it.
Soroptomists of North San Diego–A global volunteer organization working to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment.
Wreaths Across America–Remember the fallen. Honor those who serve. Teach the next generation the value of freedom. Our volunteers are the beating heart of the program and work year-round to share this important mission and inspire others to join
Anvil of Hope–Anvil of Hope is the non-profit brainchild of AleSmith Brewing Company’s owners, Peter and Vicky Zien, who are deeply committed to strengthening our community. The Anvil of Hope vision is to break the cycle of poverty to ensure that EVERYONE has the opportunity to thrive and prosper.
Assistance League–Assistance League of Greater San Diego is an all-volunteer, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) corporation whose member volunteers administer programs and perform specific services to meet community needs. Funds raised by the chapter directly benefit the San Diego Community.
Ed Brown Senior Center–The Ed Brown Center for Active Adults connects and engages our community in Inland North County by offering high-quality programs, services, and recreational activities. We serve our members, along with the broader community, and aim to grow to remain a vital resource. The Center is a welcoming space for both active and social activities, where people can stay healthy, active, and connected.
Interfaith Community Services—ICS is committed to equipping those people in crisis with the necessary resources to relieve them from on-going hardships and move them toward life-changing independence. Our continuum of care provides clients with wrap-around services to access every area of support and ensure we provide personalized care.
NAMI San Diego–At the heart of NAMI San Diego’s mission is the sharing of information and striving to end the stigma associated with mental illness. To this end, we offer a Helpline, support groups, educational meetings, newsletters, a lending library and a number of classes on mental illness held at various locations throughout San Diego County.
North San Diego NAACP–Inspired by community and the belief in the innate power of people working together, the NAACP North San Diego County, consistent with its mission, continues to make progress by continuing to work for political, educational, social, and economic equality for people of color through nonviolent use of the press, the petition, the ballot, and the courts.
Project Mercy Baja–The mission of Project Mercy is to build solid and secure houses and improve the quality of life for impoverished families in Mexico.
PUSD Kitchen Table–The Kitchen tABLE Academy has a full design of curriculum for students with Autism and Developmental Disabilities to help them reach their full potential in areas of Culinary, Nutrition, Smart Farming, and Green Waste. Our end goal will allow us to hire our students to work in the kitchen, and at the future Cafe, while attracting other employers in modalities listed, to join us in our mission and vision.
The Rise Concept–Rise Concept is a 501(c)3 nonprofit created to serve our community and those needing help to improve their way of life by providing a resale store for affordable shopping and further supporting the community by using profits to help at-risk youth, survivors of human trafficking, and challenged veterans.
3rd Grade Dictionaries—RB Rotary funds the acquisition of dictionaries for 3rd graders and distributes them to several PUSD elementary schools.
High School Scholarships—RB Rotary awards approximately $20,000 in scholarships to high school seniors from Del Norte High School, Rancho Bernardo High School, Poway High School and Mt. Carmel High School. The scholarships are need based and competitive and include awards for special needs students.
4-Way Speech contest—RB Rotary sponsors a competition offered to high school students where the student must prepare a five to seven minute speech to illustrate the Rotary Four-Way Test. The winner at the club level proceeds to further competition in the Rotary District.
RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award)—RB Rotary annually sponsors several students to attend RYLA. Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, or “RYLA,” recognizes and rewards deserving 11th grade students for their leadership and service. Each April, about 200 young leaders attend an all-expenses-paid weekend in Idyllwild, where they are inspired by a diverse group of exceptional speakers, make life-long friends, and discuss ethical and social issues affecting leadership today. These students return to their schools and communities motivated to continue their leadership journeys with fresh insights into themselves and the world around them.
LEAD (Leadership, Ethics, Aspirations, Determination)—RB Rotary annually sponsors several 8th grade students to attend LEAD. LEAD encourages young people to discuss issues of ethical responsibility, improve leadership and communication skills, become self-motivated to reach goals, and develop a positive outlook on life … all while having fun and making friends. LEAD provides the opportunity for young people to share experiences with and learn from their peers and adult community leaders.
Model UN—RB Rotary annually funds several high school students to attend the Rotary Model United Nations Program. This program is a partnership between the Rotary District 5340 Pathways to Peace Committee and students from San Diego County and Baja California. As Model United Nations delegates, students will become exposed to and engaged in major world issues, while meeting and working alongside their peers from different socio-economic groups, cultures, and backgrounds.
High School Music Contest—RB Rotary sponsors an annual competition for musicians from local PUSD high schools. The winner receives a cash prize and proceeds to further Rotary District competitions.
International Projects—RB Rotary has an annual allocation of funds to support Rotary International Foundation projects. Such things as water purification projects in Ecuador, feminine hygiene in India, and supporting nursing students in Mexico have been funded in the past. Currently we are supporting migrant children education in the Imperial Valley of California.
Ride Above Disability–Ride Above Disability Therapeutic Riding Center teaches recreational riding to children and adults of all ages with disabilities. Their mission is to Celebrate Ability, Create Hope and Ride Above Challenges
Ronald McDonald House–Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego provides a “home-away-from-home” for families with children being treated for serious, often life-threatening conditions at local hospital
San Diego OASIS–San Diego Oasis is a nonprofit organization that offers classes, events, and social activities for adults 50 and older.
RB Spirit of the Fourth—RB Rotary supports “Spirit of the Fourth” a local non-profit that hosts the annual community Spirit of the Fourth celebration on July 4 that includes a community fair, a parade and fireworks demonstration.
USD Rotaract—RB Rotary is the primary sponsor for University of San Diego Rotaract Club and supports them financially, with joint community service projects and social events. Rotaract is the university arm of Rotary.
